Introducing the 2020 DEI Accelerator cohort

Registration

For those traveling into Kansas City and staying at the InterContinental Hotel, you will receive your convening swag and name tag at the front desk upon checking in.

For those local to Kansas City, please register on-site at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center the morning of Tuesday, March 16. Registration opens at 7:30 am.

Meals

Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be served at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center each day of the convening. Dinner will be provided the evening of Tuesday, March 17 during our social event at TBD.

Promise54 will reimburse up to $25 for dinner the evening of Monday, March 16if you fly into Kansas City that evening. In order to be reimbursed for dinner, you must submit a receipt for each expense, and your total reimbursement amount must not exceed $25. See the travel logistics memo in the “Know Before You Go” email for more on the reimbursement process.

 

Restrooms

At Promise54 we make every effort to ensure that DEI Accelerator participants can bring their full selves at all times – including to the DEI Accelerator convening. While the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center is not currently equipped with gender inclusive bathrooms, there is a gender inclusive bathroom option in the Kauffman Foundation’s office building. There are signs located at the entrance of the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center that will lead you to the gender inclusive bathroom.

 

Shuttle Transportation

Shuttle service will be provided between the InterContinental Hotel and the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. It is about a 5-minute ride. Please review the details below and plan accordingly to ensure timely arrival to convening activities.

Tuesday, March 17

  • Continuous shuttling from the InterContinental Hotel to Kauffman Foundation Conference Center - 7:00 am-9:00 am
  • Continuous shuttling from Kauffman Foundation Conference Center to the InterContinental Hotel – 5:30 pm-7:30 pm
  • Continuous shuttling between the InterContinental Hotel and the dinner location – 7:00 pm-midnight

Wednesday, March 18

  • Continuous shuttling from the InterContinental Hotel to Kauffman Foundation Conference Center – 7:00 am-9:00 am
  • Participants who have reservations with SuperShuttle will be picked up at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center and brought to the airport. All other participants will be responsible for their own travel.

**Once a shuttle is filled, it will leave for the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center and return to the InterContinental Hotel to pick-up more people until the shuttle service time block is over.**

You should have received reservation confirmations directly from SuperShuttle for your transportation to and from Kansas City International Airport (MCI). For changes or cancellations, please go to www.supershuttle.com or call 1.888.BLUEVAN (258.3826).

If you are staying at the InterContinental Hotel, please note that Wi-Fi is complimentary. To access the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center’s Wi-Fi:

  1. Select Kauffman Wi-Fi on your device
  2. Open a browser
  3. A window will pop up. You’ll need to choose the “guest login"
  4. Read and check the box for the disclaimer and click “certify”

Lactation Room

The Kauffman Foundation Conference Center has a lactation room available for use by nursing parents located near the Brookside breakout room. Refrigeration is available on-site in the office at the entrance of the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center.

 

Survey Data Office Hours

Have questions about your organization’s DEI survey results or how they relate to national benchmarks? Bring your questions to data office hours for a quick chat with our Promise54 DEI data experts!

They will be available Monday, March 16 in Pavilion VI and VII at the InterContinental Hotel from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. They will also be available Tuesday, March 17 at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in the Gilham Park and Volker Park rooms from 7:30 am-8:30 am and 1:15 pm-2:15 pm.
